Jackery Explorer 500 v2
The Jackery Explorer 500 v2 puts 512 Wh and 500 W output into a 5.7 kg station. It is a manageable size for a short trip or a modest mobile-work setup.
Listed for purchaseOur take
Our preference in the 500 v2 versus RIVER 2 Max pair when carrying weight is the deciding factor.
The Jackery is 0.3 kg lighter than the 6 kg RIVER 2 Max, with the same headline capacity and output. That is a modest advantage each time you lift it, rather than a claim of better runtime.
Choose a larger station if your equipment needs more than 500 W or your energy budget exceeds this battery. A typical high-power UK kettle is outside its rating. Compare the current station-only offers before paying extra for the small weight saving.
Its two USB-C outputs are rated at 100 W and 30 W. The RIVER 2 Max also supplies 100 W over USB-C and can accept USB-C charging input; choose it if recharging the station that way matters to you.
