Think beyond the battery box
DJI’s European Power 2000 announcement, dated 2 July 2025, describes a 2,048 Wh station with 3,000 W output. The company also highlights expansion and charging options. Those figures make it an interesting research lead for production work, but they are not evidence of how long a particular shoot will run.
The useful question is workflow
For a creator, power planning includes camera-battery charging, laptop work and lighting. Equipment may run at different times. Add the energy used throughout the day, then separately identify the highest simultaneous load. A setup that charges batteries while the lights are off can have a different requirement from one running everything together.
Plan the next charge as well
Decide where recharging is realistic between locations. Check the exact charger, cable and input limits before treating a vehicle stop as a reliable energy top-up. Include the power station and every accessory in the carrying plan.
The DJI Power 2000 profile now covers the regional specifications and charging accessories. Use the capacity planner and whole-event load guide to work out what a future comparison needs to establish.
